The BT Motion was made to work with 3D applications like our virtual reality systems, but it’s very versatile and can be used with a number of programs and systems! One of the most popular is the Fire TV and Fire TV stick! Follow the instructions below to get started! Or simply watch this video:
First, go to the settings menu on your Fire TV and select “Controllers and Bluetooth Devices” and press enter:
Next, select “other Bluetooth Devices”
Then to “add bluetooth devices”
Now hold down the start button and the home button on the controller simultaneously (the “home button” is the large button in the center. It will either say “TD3D” or “EV3D” depending on the model). The button will blink red, like this…
Ooooo… isn’t that pretty?
Now, when a new device name appears on your screen, click on it. This should cause the light on the controller to turn solid.
Alternatively, the controller can be added as a “game controller” (this method may or may not work depending on your Fire TV/Firestick version and firmware). This is done by selecting “add game controller” rather than “add other bluetooth devices.” The process after is the same.
TOUBLESHOOTING:
Bluetooth can be a little tricky to pair initially, but once paired, everything should work smoothly If you’re having trouble pairing, keep these things in mind:
- Be sure your controller is not paired to another device For instance, it it’s already paired to your phone, or tablet, you will need to first “unpair” it from that device before pairing to the TV (see your devices instructions for unpairing devices)
- Occasionally there are conflicts between devices. If other bluetooth devices are already paired to your Fire TV, try unpairing all of those (using the button with the 3 horizontal lines on the Fire TV remote) and then pairing the controller. You can then re-pair the other devices
- Be sure to hold your BT Motion and your Fire TV relatively close to one another. Bluetooth has a long range, but for initial pairing, it’s best to be as close as possible.
- It is important to hold both start and the home key (this was mentioned above but it is worth repeating as this is the #1 reason for the device not pairing. If only the home button is held, it will not recognize the device correctly and may even ask for a code. Then you’ll just be confused because you don’t have a code. We don’t want you to feel confused. We want you to have fun!)
